Firstly I’d like to say TE Powder Coating & Sandblasting came highly recommended by two different family friends so I know they must do good work for some. I cannot personally attest to that, as they've actually not done any work for me. This review is instead only speaking to their lack of responsivenes and disposition while dealing with them in an attempt to get a project done in which they took on but were unable to complete.
I am still honestly baffled how it took them 19 business days to call me to let me know they could not help me with my simple wooden bracelet project. A small hinged wooden bracelet my Dad made me for my wedding - we decided it would look perfect with a laser engraved floral design on it. I contacted TE Metal Works on 8/9 via email with pictures to see if they felt it was doable with their laser machine. I received a response back stating they thought so, but that they'd have to see it in person. I left it with them on 8/16 and they believed it would be completed by 8/23 at the latest.
Had they taken the time to look at it within the week timeframe they said they would, I would have still had plenty of time to find someone local or elsewhere that could have either laser or hand engraved the bracelet before my wedding on 9/18. As it stands now, I’m out of time and luck to find someone to complete the project for me - it’s 4 days until my wedding. I’m not upset in the least that they couldn’t complete it - I know there are limitations to every piece of equipment, I’m actually only upset that they couldn’t find the time in 27 calendar days to call me to let me know it 1) Wasn’t possible with their machine or 2) Didn't have availability to complete it within the required time frame.
A little bit of communication goes a long way. And in this case, there was none on their part. I emailed twice (1 week apart) for updates without a response. I called them at least three times for updates to which they never once expressed a concern about not being able to complete it - only “I’m currently working on it.” I understand this was a small project and not worth much money and also understand that larger projects must take precedence. But it seems this was a job that should have never been accepted in the first place. I don’t like writing derogatory comments, but in this case I’m truly just hoping that they don’t treat other clients with small projects with as little urgency or communication as mine. I wish them all the best in their future endeavors.
